Senior Activities
AvantGarde knows that staying active and socially engaged is essential to enhancing the physical and mental well being of our senior residents. Which is why our calendar is loaded with fun and engaging activities to match any interest or level of mobility.
Offsite Activities
Planned outings from AvantGarde might include going to local shops, restaurants and theaters. Our residents get excited when visiting regional attractions such as the Getty Center, parks, beaches, botanical gardens and more. Even those with mobility challenges enjoy a fresh change in scenery and being chauffeured around in our ADA compliant Mercedes Sprinter vans that make getting around easy and comfortable. Request a community activity calendar for outing schedules and details.
Arts & Crafts
Our arts and crafts activities are a great way for our senior residents to show off their creative side. They always get great satisfaction and enjoyment knowing they made something that is truly original and expresses their individuality. It stimulates the mind and brings more creativity as they push boundaries to improve their skills. It’s always a wonderful experience, and also great for those with dementia as it gives them a change to socialize, provides self-expression and a sense of accomplishment, helping to reduce agitation and anxiety.
Holiday & Social Events
At AvantGarde, we’re always planning what the next fun-filled event might be, like casino night, dance night, or maybe some musical entertainment. And when the holidays roll around, we decorate and plan a variety of festive activities and events to make it a true celebration. Our residents always enjoy getting together at these events, building enduring friendships and sharing stories of each moment for days and years to come.
Fitness Classes
AvantGarde’s embraces a healthy senior lifestyle and offers a variety of fitness activities to promote physical health and well being. We encourage residents to participate in group focused fitness to help them stay socially engaged in the community. Which in turn builds strength, boosts cognitive function, encourages independence and promotes emotional health.
Miniture Golf
Everyone loves Putt-Putt Golf, and our senior residents prove that time and time again as they laugh their way through the course. With cheering from the sidelines to get a hole-in-one. Both golfers and non-golfers enjoy it. In fact, anyone can play at any age, even from a wheelchair. Miniature golf makes fitness fun and engaging. It encourages hand-eye coordination and creates social interaction. That’s why our residents look forward to it every day.
Movie Nights
Another fun way to gather with friends at AvantGarde is to have an enjoyable movie night. Residents can enjoy eating plenty of popcorn as they kick back into cozy recliners as they watch both current and their favorite old-time movies. They can invite family members to share in movie night too.
